Adam Brody is weighing in on the Gilmore Girls boyfriend conversation.
The actor, 44, earned his big break when he took on the role of Dave Rygalski in season 3 of Gilmore Girls. His short performance as the sweet and lovable guitarist captivated the hearts of fans everywhere and made viewers swoon with the way he pursued his girlfriend Lane Kim (Keiko Agena).
While his time as Dave was short-lived, Brody ended the debate on whether or not his character deserves "the best boyfriend title" in the series.
"No, he wasn't around that long," the Nobody Wants This star said in an Instagram video posted by ELLE Magazine. "We don't know how he would have been in the long term."
"He could have been love bombing," he added.
In season 3 episode 20 of Gilmore Girls, Dave won fans over when he told Mrs. Kim, Lane's deeply religious, strict and controlling mother, that he stayed up all night to read the entire Bible in order to take Lane to prom.
While Mrs. Kim finally relented, Dave and Lane's romance was short-lived because he went to college in California. After giving a long-distance relationship a shot, they eventua -
lly broke up. She went on to marry and welcome kids with her fellow bandmate Zack Van Gerbig (Todd Lowe).
Gilmore Girlsran from 2000 to 2007 for seven seasons on The CW and starred Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a close-knit mother-daughter duo. The series followed their lives in the fictional small town of Stars Hollow, Conn. It also starred Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Melissa McCarthy and Scott Patterson.

Despite Brody's skepticism, Agena previously told E! News that she believed Lane's thought still drifted towards Dave every once in a while.
"As rock 'n roll as she said she was, I think she would be pretty above board, but I think there is some lovelorn heartsickness over that relationship," she explained. "Maybe some daydreams. I don't know that she would ever act on anything, but a friendship for sure."
Nobody Wants This and Gilmore Girls are now streaming on Netflix.
