After the Republican was unseated as Wyoming’s House representative in 2022, she has continued to focus solely on different political issues, including joining Vice PresidentKamala Harris on her campaign trail for the 2024 presidential election.

Over the years, though, certain details about Cheney and Perry's union have been made public.

So who is Liz Cheney's husband? Here’s everything to know about Philip Perry and his relationship with the politician.

Cheney and Perry both attended Colorado College: She earned her bachelor's degree in political science in 1988, while he studied English and graduated in 1986.

According to Washington Monthly, Cheney and Perry eventually met at a Colorado College alumni mixer in Washington, D.C.

Cheney later enrolled in law school at the University of Chicago, and Perry received his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School.

After crossing paths at their alma mater's event, they began dating. The couple eventually married in 1993 in Wyoming.

Cheney and Perry have five kids.

Their first daughter, Kate Perry, was born in 1994 while Cheney was still in law school. They then welcomed daughters Elizabeth Perry, born in 1997, and Grace Perry, born in 2000.

heir son, Philip Richard Perry, arrived in 2004 and their youngest child, son Richard Perry, in 2006.

When Cheney was running for Senate in 2013, Perry and their five kids appeared in one of her campaign ads.

One of Perry's first high-profile jobs as an attorney came in 1997 when he served as general counsel for the Senate investigation into President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore, who were accused of campaign fundraising abuse.

A few years later, The New York Times reported that Perry acted as a mock debate moderator to help Dick prepare for his vice presidential debate against Sen. Joe Lieberman, Gore’s running mate.

After Gore conceded the highly contested 2000 presidential election, Perry served on President George W. Bush and Cheney's transition team as a policy coordinator. The following year, Perry was named acting associate attorney general for the Justice Department in Bush's cabinet. He later served as general counsel to the White House Office of Management and Budget.

In 2003, Perry worked on Bush and Cheney's upcoming reelection campaign. According to The Washington Post, Perry was simultaneously registered as a lobbyist for weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin from 2003 to 2004.

Bush also nominated Perry to be general counsel for the Department of Homeland Security in 2005. Two years later, he returned to the Washington, D.C., office of Latham & Watkins, a multinational law firm where he was a partner as early as 2001. He has intermittently worked for Latham & Watkins since 1993, according to Washington Monthly.
