Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.
I used to think black was the “it color” of fall and winter, but celebrities like Martha Stewart, Kelly Clarkson, and Eva Longoria are declaring a new hue their go-to lately.
From cardigans to sweaters to dresses, stars have been wearing brown in all kinds of creative ways, and Longoria just showed us how to make the trend even more fashionable. While visiting Good Morning America in New York City, the actress wore a suede maxi skirt styled with a sleek mock neck blouse and brown suede booties.
Suede is a seasonal favorite of mine because it’s warm, elegant, and versatile. Wearing the fabric as a skirt in midi or maxi form is a great alternative to jeans, and I just may have to get one for Thanksgiving dinner.
Copy Longoria’s outfit this holiday season with these similar suede and faux suede skirts, mock neck blouses, and booties available at Nordstrom, J.Crew, Banana Republic, and more.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:I can’t get enough brown this season. And I don’t yet have a skirt in the hue, so I’m going to h -
ave to add this midi available at Revolve to my cart. The long silhouette keeps your legs covered, and you can even wear it with tights for extra warmth. The front slit makes this suede skirt breathable, and it has functional front and back pockets, which is a bonus.
Like Longoria, Meghan Markle is also a fan of mock neck tops. I like wearing them for some extra coverage before temperatures really start to dip and turtlenecks become a necessity. This blouse from Banana Republic Factory is so elegant thanks to the shiny satin fabric, and the long sleeves have an elastic cuff to lock in heat.
For those who already have a pair of black booties, consider switching things up with a brown suede-like pair, like this option by Sam Edelman. They come with an almond toe, a block heel, and a side zipper, making slipping them on and going easy. One shopper said they were “able to walk over a mile in them comfortably.”
It’s official; my closet just got way more espresso-colored. Keep scrolling for more mix-and-match pieces that remind us of Eva Longoria’s latest GMA look.
