President Joe Biden's 2024 campaign continued pulling in donations after he struggled to fend off Donald Trump's attacks during the first presidential debate on Thursday, June 27.

According to a Biden-Harris campaign official, the hour that followed the debate marked the president's best grassroots fundraising hour since he launched his bid for reelection.

Overall, the campaign official says, June 27 was Biden's best day for grassroots funding.

Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, faced off on June 27 in a historic, early campaign season debate involving the two oldest White House veterans.

Shortly after the debate, political strategists began to openly question whether Biden can recover from his muffled performance at a crucial moment in the election cycle.

Despite Biden's performance, he continued receiving an influx of independent and small-dollar donations that will help him articulate his platform in advertising and continue courting voters with on-the-ground staff.

He earned a similar fundraising boost after his much more energetic State of the Union address in March, and raked in millions of dollars through high-profile fundraisers in New York City and Los Angeles this spring.
