Katie Holmes is bringing stirrup pants back, whether you're here for their return or not.
The actress, 45, stepped out in New York City ahead of Thanksgiving Day, sporting the polarizing '80s bottoms. Holmes, who is currently starring in Broadway’s revival of Our Town, styled the black stirrup pants with a double-breasted denim peplum top (a 2000s trend that's having a moment again) and oversize shades on Nov. 27.
As if the pants and peplum combo didn't make enough of a statement. Holmes added a pair of Tory Burch Twisted Pumps which won't be available until April 2025. The shoes feature a peek-a-boo opening at the toes and a sculptural heel.
Holmes finished the look with her current bag of choice, Manu Atelier’s Le Cambon 35 in Silk Grey Nubuck. While currently sold out on the brand’s site, the bag retails for $745.
Holmes, who's known for taking fashio -
n risks, had a head-turning moment in October when she arrived at the Barrymore Theatre wearing a pair of colorful patchwork jeans from Japanese clothing line Kapital that retail for $2,368.And as the temps continue to get colder in the Big Apple, Holmes has been adding winter-ready pieces to her wardrobe as she travels to and from the theater. Earlier this month, she threw on a black fuzzy coat over a cardigan and graphic T-shirt. She carried two Starbucks beverages and her Le Cambon 35 in the other.
In the new production of the Thornton Wilder classic that opened on Oct. 10, Holmes plays Mrs. Webb alongside the star-studded cast that includes Jim Parsons and Zoey Deutch. Deutch, 30, who plays Holmes’ daughter on stage, called the actress “pure sunshine.”
“I feel very lucky that I get to be with her in this capacity,” Deutch told PEOPLE.
