Wendell Pierce is ready for his return to the Suits universe.

The New Orleans-born actor, 60, recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, where he discussed the possibility of him appearing in the Suits spinoff, Suits L.A.

During the Friday, Oct. 25 episode, Pierce called the show’s resurgence “fascinating” after it became available for streaming, allowing a new wave of fans to discover the series.

“I think it's the most fascinating thing that all of a sudden, our show got on Netflix and it blew up,” he told Shaw. “We got a text, a chain text, from Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter) who's the lead, and he just sent this text to everyone saying, ‘WTF.’ ”

The legal drama debuted on USA in 2011 and wrapped up in 2019. However, in 2023, the series was added to Netflix’s catalog and set streaming records.

According to Pierce, the text from Macht, 52, took the group chat by surprise, but he’s hopeful for the possibilities it could bring.

“I mean, there's a new Suits being produced right now, so I'm sure that we will be making cameos on it,” the Elsbeth actor said. “I better be asked to make a cameo on the show 'cause we went on strike because we're not getting anything from that resurgence.”

Switching gears, he added, “But I would love to make a cameo on the show.”

Pierce, who played the father of Meghan Markle's character Rachel Zane on Suits, remains close to his former costars — even outside of their group text.

Speaking -

to PEOPLE at the 2024 Tony Awards in New York City in June, the Wire alum sent his TV daughter, 43, well wishes.

“When Meghan came into town, she got an award last year, had a chance to say hello and wish she and Prince Harry well and wish the children well,” Pierce exclusively told PEOPLE at the time.

“They look very much in love and were very happy, so that's the most important thing,” he added of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

And though it’s been several years since the original Suits ended, Pierce and Meghan have managed to still see each other on a few occasions.

“I've gotten to see her just a few times since, and we've been able to reminisce and so it's real, we have fond memories of working together,” he shared.

Suits L.A. will see Stephen Amell as series lead Ted Black, a “former federal prosecutor from New York" who "has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” according to an official description.

None of the show’s original actors have been confirmed to make cameos, although, in addition to Pierce, Patrick J. Adams (Michael Ross) has also expressed interest in returning.

All nine seasons of Suits are streaming on Netflix.
