Mamie Laverock's mother is sharing an insight into the actress’ recovery.

The 19-year-old’s mom Nicole Rockmann shared an update on her daughter, who fell five stories from a hospital balcony last month, in a post shared on Laverock's official Facebook on Wednesday, June 26.

“Thank you for your healing messages for Mamie,” the post began. “Mamie survived her injuries, however her road to recovery will be long. I will be setting up a mailbox for all of your cards and well wishes shortly.”

“Warmth, Nicole,” she concluded the message.

According to a Facebook post previously shared on Laverock's page on Friday, June 7, the When Calls the Heart star was still recovering in the hospital following the May 26 fall, which left her in critical condition.

The post, which had no caption, featured a photo of Laverock’s hand hooked up to an IV cannula and holding a teddy bear. The image also showed Laverock’s hospital bed and gown.

On May 30, a family spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that Laverock had been released from surgery.

Sharing an update on her daughter’s condition that same day, Rockmann told the Los Angeles Times that her Laverock had “opened her eyes” for the first time since the fall.

"Let's just hope this is the turnaround and she's going to get through this now," she said. "I couldn't be happier that people reached out and cared. The story will be told."

Rockmann also claimed that her daughter’s fall was not intentional and placed blame on the hospital where the fall occurred — St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Laverock fell while she was allegedly being escorted around the healthcare facility.

"This is an absolute miracle and there will be -

accountability," Rockmann said, noting that the fall was not "intended" nor was it a suicide attempt. "All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she’s alive and that she’s fighting and that she’s strong. It's unbelievable that she’s with us,” she added.

A spokesperson for Providence Health Care, which operates St. Paul's Hopsital, told PEOPLE it does not comment on patient-related matters due to its privacy and confidentiality policies. However, the representative said, "In cases related to patient safety, an internal critical incident review is conducted to determine exactly what happened and to make recommendations for improved patient safety."

"Our hearts go out to the patient, family, and all affected by this event, and offer our best wishes for a full recovery," the spokesperson added.

On May 11, Laverock was transported by her mom to a Winnipeg hospital due to a “medical emergency,” according to a GoFundMe page created by her family. She was then transferred to the Vancouver hospital, where she “was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories," according to an update posted on May 28.

“She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” Rockmann and her husband Rob wrote on the campaign page. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”
