New billionaire Selena Gomez is staying humble.
The "Hands to Myself" singer and Rare Beauty founder, 32, stepped out to the premiere of her new film, Emilia Pérez, during the 62nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Sept. 30 and opened up about one of her latest accomplishments: becoming a billionaire.
"I’m very grateful," Gomez told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet after theBloomberg Billionaires Index recently reported she's now worth $1.3 billion — largely thanks to her cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty.
"I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money," she added, "but I really am giving all the credit to people who buy the products."
"They’re the ones that made this dream of mine come true, so I’m really, really honored and just happy," continued Gomez, who's reportedly one of the youngest female self-made billionaires in the United States.

In addition to Rare Beauty, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported the Only Murders in the Building star's other major income sources include -

Gomez previously spoke to Time about the success of her beauty brand. "I have this weird thing in my head where if I focus on the numbers, I’ll lose whatever it is that made Rare Beauty Rare Beauty," she told the outlet. "I never wanted it to be about making a lot of money and that’s it."

In April, Forbesreported Gomez's friend,Taylor Swift, reached billionaire status due to her ongoing Eras Tour, extensive song catalog and real estate portfolio.
Earlier this month, PEOPLE caught up with Gomez at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Emilia Pérez — where she expressed feeling "grateful" for all the "overwhelming" things happening in her professional life.
"It's such a wonderful gift," added the "Lose You to Love Me" performer, who was also recently nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys for her role in Only Murders in the Building.
