A travel agent is opening up about a heart-warming encounter she had with Taylor Swift’s dad on her recent Southwest flight.
The traveler, whose name is also Taylor, took to TikTok on Wednesday, Oct. 30 to explain what she talked about with the “Karma” singer’s dad, Scott Swift, during their flight out of New Orleans. She says she sat in the first row right next to Scott, who was traveling to an unnamed destination after seeing his daughter perform at the Eras Tour's Louisiana stop.
A short clip of their exchange filmed by another passenger appears in the video first before cutting to the travel agent, who says, “I’m the girl that was sitting next to Papa Swift.”
Though she says she is not a “massive Swiftie” and was only passing through New Orleans on her way to Mexico, she admits she had to address the “elephant in the room” and ask Scott, “Are you Taylor’s Dad?”
The TikToker claims he responded, “Yes, I am,” and reached into his pocket to hand her some guitar picks. She then gives "story time" debrief of what they chatted about during their journey, describing Scott as "a talker" and "the sweetest man on planet earth."
“I did not even have to ask him questions and he was just spilling every bit of how proud he was of Taylor, a lot about his life — all of the good stuff," the TikToker shared.
She notes that during a majority of the flight he was showing her videos of the recent concerts. The third person in their row also eventually realized who Scott was and joined in on the conversation, followed by the Southwest flight attendants who “wrote him a note, gave him some bracelets and were fangirling," t -
he poster shared.
“He was showing us so many videos from the New Orleans shows,” she continues. “He was pointing out his favorite parts in the different shows. He was so proud, he was like, ‘look how she does this, I love this part.’ Cutest thing in the world.”
TikToker Taylor adds that they did take a picture together “outside the plane and we took one in our seat,” but he kindly asked her not to post them right away for privacy reasons.
“He was telling me about how busy his lifestyle is between going to conferences, going to all of her concerts, going to all of the football games. He was just saying that he’s constantly running."
She claims Scott also told her that he books all his own flights and hotels himself, “which I thought was super cool,” she says.
While discussing his daughter's impact, he compared the Eras tour to the feelings that Woodstock evoked in him in 1969 since that was the “big thing of his time,” the agent adds.
