Forever begins in Virgin River season 6.

On Friday, Nov. 29, the trailer for the sixth season of Netflix's hit series was revealed, which focuses on the lead-up to Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) wedding.

"I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, who is trusting in forever again," Mel says in a voice over.

The trailer is packed with drama, the scenic location fans have come to know and love and plenty of romantic scenes between Mel and Jack, including one of them cozying up under the stars, dancing together in a barn, sitting in a bubble bath together and a steamy shower shot.

There are also classic pre-wedding rituals such as bachelor and bachelorette parties and a rehearsal dinner.

"I've spent so many years wishing things hadn't happened the way they have," says Mel. "But the end of one love story can be the beginning of another."

The trailer ends with Jack looking at Mel in her full wedding gown and breathlessly saying, "Wow."

In addition to the romantic springtime wedding, season 6 "promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s."

Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr joined the cast to portray the younger versions of Mel's parents Sarah and Everett as they meet and fall in love via flashbacks.

Season 5 had been the most drama-packed season yet with tragedies hitting Virgin River including a devastating wildfire and Mel and Jack suffering a miscarriage, along with the reveal of Mel's biological father's identity.

owrunner Patrick Sean Smith said he "knew" this season needed to be the wedding season. "It was time."

"It felt like a great event to build around, so everybody had as much forethought and time to plan as possible … It felt very Virgin River in its production — the ambition of it, and that we’re a small group of people that care about something so much: the fans," he told Netflix's Tudum. "So we just busted our humps to get it done."

He also teased that "babies and wedding bells are never off the table on Virgin River." Elsewhere in season 6, fans can expect Jack and Mel to transform Lilly’s farm into their ultimate dream home.

Characters such as Preacher (Colin Lawrence), Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure) can also find themselves going in "new directions," Smith said.

Writer-producer Richard Keith previously told Tudum in 2022 that despite the characters going through "some pretty terrible things, there's always a happy ending."

"It may not be the happy ending they were expecting, but they find their way to a happy place that, in some ways, might be happier than if they’d ended up where they thought they would to begin with."

Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanimé, Kai and Bradbury will also be part of the drama's latest installment.

Virgin River season 6 premieres Dec. 19 on Netflix. Seasons 1-5 are now streaming.
