California Highway Patrol's Tracy Division tells PEOPLE that authorities are awaiting toxicology reports to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident
A 2-month-old baby, along with two adult individuals, are dead after a fatal crash on Easter Sunday in Tracy, Calif.
The crash happened just after 2:00 AM when the driver of a Honda Accord, driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 580, collided with a Kia Telluride.
California Highway Patrol's Tracy Division explained in a media release on Facebook that the vehicles "crashed head-on," with the impact causing both vehicles to overturn.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 19-year-old Harold Liberty IV, per KXTV, was ejected into the center median and pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Kia, identified by the outlet as 32-year-old Azucena Perez, was transported to the San Joaquin General Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Riding in Perez's vehicle were a 35-year-old male passenger and a 2-month-old female passenger who were both transported to the same hospital with "major injuries." A 4-year-old male passenger was also transported to the hospital for treatment with "minor injuries," per the media release.

The highway patrol announced on Tuesday that the 2-month-old "passed away as a result of this crash," adding in their update on Facebook, "Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragic event."
The crash was witnessed by Norman Phillips, who told KCRA-TV that he was on his way to work when he decided to pull over at the scene when he saw "dust in the air."
He told the outlet that he heard the adult male passenger in the Kia say "There’s kids in the car, there’s kids in the car."
"He’s like, 'My baby! My baby! My baby’s underneath me,'" recalled Phillips. "I reached down in the car, grabbed his arm, pulled him up, and he literally just pulled the baby out from underneath him and laid it right on his belly." Phillips told the outlet that he saw that the baby girl not moving.

"Just limp, and I turned it over and gave it two pats on the back. It gasped for air, and I was like, 'Whoa,' " he said.
