A pigeon is searching for her forever home in Maryland.

Earlier this week, the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center shared a post on Facebook, in which it revealed that the establishment has a wild pigeon that is up for adoption.

The bird, named Valley, "is a very friendly, very silly and very determined pigeon with a funny story," the animal center wrote.

According to the organization, Valley had frequented the outside of the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center and one day decided to go into the building "by landing on a staff member and hitching a ride inside."

After medical staff looked at the animal, they determined that she "did not have a band and was in good health," so they sent her back into the wild. But Valley had "other plans," the rescue center said, because each time she was placed back outside "she would land on somebody's head, shoulder or jacket and take herself back inside."

One day, when Valley landed on a worker's head while they were capturing photographs of adoptable dogs, the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center staff decided to put her up for adoption given her "love for human company and lack of survival skills."

"She is now looking for a new home where she can be a beloved companion," the organization wrote on Facebook.

Staffers added that Valley is "incredibly friendly, loyal and cute" and noted that "she much prefers hanging out with her human friends, on your head or shoulder, to being in her cage."

"So she's hoping to find an adopter who enjoys her company as much as she enjoys theirs and wants to spend lots of time with her," they continued.
