“Dream Team,” the most recent film from directing duo Lev Kalman and Whitney Horn (“L for Leisure,” “Two Plains & a Fancy”) has been acquired by Yellow Veil Pictures ahead of its international sales launch at Marche du Film.

Yellow Veil has acquired worldwide sales rights and North American distribution rights to “Dream Team,” which just held its U.S. premiere at the Los Angeles Festival of Movies after world premiering at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The company plans to release the film domestically later this year.

According to its official synopsis, “Dream Team” is “an absurdist homage to ’90s basic cable TV thrillers, which follows the episodic escapades of two hot INTERPOL agents who uncover an international, interspecies mystery.”

“Dream Team” stars Esther Garrel (“Call Me by Your Name”) and Alex Zhang Hungtai (“I Was a Simple Man”). Executive producers include Sarah Winshall (“I Saw the TV Glow”), Pierce Varous (“The Feel -

ing That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed”) and Jane Schoenbrun (“I Saw the TV Glow,” “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair”).

“As there is no separation between the mind and body, we are thrilled to partner with Yellow Veil, who like ‘Dream Team,’ refuse the distinction between intellectual pleasure and aesthetic stimulation,” Kalman and Horn said in a statement.

Added Yellow Veil, “Having grown up in the heyday of shows like ‘Silk Stalkings’ and ‘Red Shoe Diaries,’ ‘Dream Team’ came as a wonderful surprise. Lev and Whitney perfectly capture the tone, while adding a new spin by mixing arthouse and genre aesthetics into something bold and original.”
