Tyler Posey and Phem are in love.

Prior to tying the knot on Oct. 15, theTeen Wolfalum proposed to the alt-rock singer in February 2023 after two years of dating. They told PEOPLE at the time that they "make each other's lives better."

While the couple has been known to keep details on their relationship private, they opened up about how their romance came to be when speaking to PEOPLE in June. Music brought the pair together in 2020; though Phem wasn't looking for romance at the time.

“I went into it strictly business… I swear,” Phem said. “The thing I like the best is that we were friends first.” Eventually, Posey and Phem got engaged and their connection has only grown stronger.

In March 2024, Posey told PEOPLE that the "deepness of the love" he feels for Phem has only grown since they got married.

"It was this deep solidified trust, confidence, and then it just grew even more with getting married. That same feeling, and we didn't expect that," he said. “We're like, ‘We're going to get through anything,’ and the love just grows more and you become more of a partnership, or at least that’s the way it should be.”

A Los Angeles native, Phem was born and raised in a musical family. "Both my parents are musicians," she told Notion in October 2020. "I was lucky enough to be born into a household where musicwas constantly around."

While Phem is primarily known for her singing and songwriting, her musical career began by playing the piano and the drums. She described her music to the outlet in three words: "sad, angry and cute."

Phem dropped her first EP, vacuumhead, in 2019 and has released several tracks since. She has also collaborated with artists such as G-Eazy and Machine Gun Kelly.

"I want my music to be a safe space for everyone," she told Notion. "I want it to be the soundtrack to people’s best and saddest moments."

The pair began dating in 2020 after music producer John Feldmann asked Phem to write some music with the actor. "We bonded about singing about our exes," Posey told PEOPLE.

Posey duetted with Phem on his debut single "Shut Up," which also features Travis Barker. The song's roots can be traced back to a Christmas party hosted by Feldman, during which the actor found himself onstage alongside the producer and Blink-182 drummer.

“There was this one part where it’s just bass and drums, and I turned to Travis and was making direct eye contact with him while I played bass. I wanted to make him laugh and feel like we had something special going on! We’ve been friendly ever since then,” Posey told NME in April 2021.

The duo have since written several songs together.

Posey and Phem got engaged in Cambria, California. The actor told PEOPLE that the coastal town is "Phem's favorite place," adding that they would "spend every Valentine’s Day there so it only felt perfect to do the proposal there."

Even though the musician shared that they were "alone on the beach," she said she didn't see the proposal coming. "I should’ve known when he propped his phone up on a rock to film that something was up… but I had no idea,” Phem said.

The proposal locale wasn't the only significant detail. Posey designed the ring himself and incorporated Phem's favorite color: green.

"It was a total surprise," the actor told PEOPLE. "All my friends and loved ones kept it a secret and I designed the ring without her knowing, so I’m very grateful she likes it!"

At the time of their engagement, the couple told PEOPLE that they planned to get married in October. "We’re keeping it close to home and getting married at a very special place that means a lot to us," Posey teased about the wedding venue.

"Tyler and I are both very spiritually open people so it means a lot we are able to have the service at such a peaceful place," added Phem. While the wedding ceremony is planned to be "intimate," Posey said the reception is going to be "the dance party everyone can join."

On Oct. 14, Posey and Phem got married. They exchanged vows at a spiritual meditation center in Malibu, followed by a reception at Duke's Malibu in the Ocean Room.

The couple kept the gathering according to plan — small, with 65 people at the ceremony and 135 at the reception, telling PEOPLE they wanted the "people we love there," including "family and friends from all walks of life we feel safe and comfortable around."

"We love the ocean and peacefulness. We've always thought Malibu is very calming," Posey says of their wedding destination. A-list friends of the pair were in attendance, including Bella Thorne and Avril Lavigne.

During aninterview with NME, Posey — who first came out as sexually fluid on OnlyFansin October 2020 — said that Phem has helped him explore and understand his sexual identity.

"I've been with everybody under the sun, and right now I'm in the best relationship that I've ever been in with a woman, and she's queer too," the Teen Wolf star said about the musician.

He continued, "She's helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I'm sexually fluid, I guess. No, not 'I guess,' I don't want anyone to take this interview and be like: 'Well, he was kind of wishy-washy about it.'"
