Author and screenwriter Giles Paley-Phillips is launching a new film production company called Eight Digits.

Paley-Phillips is perhaps best known for his bestselling novel “One Hundred and Fifty-Two Days,” about a teenage boy confronting his grief over his mother’s imminent passing. He has also written poetry and children’s books including “The Fearsome Beastie” and “Little Bell and the Moon.”

The writer set up Eight Digits to channel his unique storytelling expertise into a diverse slate. The company, which will target viewers across genre and demographics, will cover feature projects, documentary and animation ranging from heartwarming dramas and psychological thrillers to environmental documentaries and a new animated short film. He also has an anthology series in early development.

Paley-Phillips plans to collaborate with a range of industry talent including producers, filmmakers, writers and creatives who share his passion for storytelling and compassionate filmmaking.

Paley-Phillips also fronts a number of podcasts including “Blank Podcast,” which sees him talking to figures including Louis Theroux, David Harbour and Dawn French, “Things I Forgot Were Good for Me” alongside Dr Radha Modgil and “A Little Bit of Positive,” which he co-hosts with Julia Bradbury
