Houston Texans' wide receiver Tank Dell was injured in a shooting Saturday. 

The 24-year-old NFL star sustained a ‘minor wound’ in an incident that left nine other people injured in Sanford, Florida, on April 27, his team confirmed in a statement.

Dell, who began his rookie season in 2023, was sent to the hospital for his injuries and has since been released and “is in good spirits.”

"We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate,” the team added in their statement.

Authorities reported the shooting occurred after midnight after a fight broke out at a private event held at the Cabana Live events venue, the Seminole County Sheriff's said along with witnesses, per the Associated Press.

The gunmen fired into the crowd at the venue with a 9mm handgun, according to an arrest report obtained by the outlet. A security guard on duty at the venue tackled and disarmed the shooter quickly after the incident and a second secur -

ity guard handcuffed him until authorities arrived.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection to the shooting, according to the arrest report, per AP.

The suspect has since been sent to a juvenile center where he received charges of attempted homicide, using a firearm during a felony, firing a weapon in a public place and illegal possession of a firearm by a minor.

The victims in the shooting sustained non-life-threatening injuries, all below the waist, and were treated in hospital for the injuries, AP reported. 

Cabana Live said in a statement on Facebook: "As most of you have heard, there was an incident outside our establishment last night. We are cooperating with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and praying for all those involved.”

“We reserved our venue out for a private event and we are still learning as the investigation continues what was the cause of this isolated incident. Our Cabana Live family is 100% safe and appreciate all the prayers and concerns. We are open our normal business hours.”
