Jennifer Lopez Makes Surprise Appearance at The Abbey to Celebrate Founder David Cooley's Work with LGBTQ+ Community

Jennifer Lopez came ready to "play" at The Abbey.

On Sunday, the "If You Had My Love" singer, 54, made a surprise appearance at The Abbey Bar & Food in Los Angeles during their Sunday Service Drag Brunch, per a press release.

Lopez visited the venue to pay tribute to David Cooley, CEO & founder of The Abbey, for his contributions to the LGBTQ+ community — and to celebrate the release of "Can't Get Enough," her first single from her upcoming album, This Is Me… Now, which debuted last week.

The Hustlers star sang renditions of her greatest hits with performers who sported some of her most iconic looks. During the event, attendees enjoyed Delola cocktails, crafted by mixologist Lynnette Marrero and Lopez.

Lopez released "Can't Get Enough" with itsaccompanying music video on Wednesday.

The two-time Grammy nominated artist spoke to fans about the song and how its release came together in a YouTube live stream ahead of the video premiere. "I love a love song, but I need something — and I kept saying this to them — that I can perform," she said of "Can't Get Enough."

"So when we first heard this song, everyone just knew that this was the one to laun -

ch This Is Me…Now," added the performer. "It has an energy, it has a happiness to it, and you feel it all."

For the single's music video, Lopez sought advice from her husband,Ben Affleck. "Not that he’s ever really made videos or anything like that, but I just trust his opinion and his ideas," she explained. "Nobody kind of knows my story or me more than he does. I really feel like he gets me and he understands me, obviously."

She added: "All of you have been following my journey, and I think you’ve seen me. What I wanted to tell everybody with the album... is true love actually exists."

Lopez's ninth studio album This Is Me... Now is due Feb 16, 2024.

This Is Me...Now: A Love Story will release on the same day on Prime Video. Directed by Dave Meyers, the visual will serve as a "musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life," according to a press release, which promises it will be "narrative-driven, intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical and highly entertaining."

The film was also co-written by Affleck, 51, as well as Matt Walton.
