Levi Wright's mother has shared a heartbreaking update about her son.

On Sunday, June 2, Kallie Wright, who shares son Levi, 3, with rodeo star Spencer Wright, announced that their family is “letting him go” in a post shared on Facebook.

“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world's best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” Kallie began of her son, who has been hospitalized in a critical condition since driving his toy tractor into a Utah river on May 21.

“Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this,” she continued. “We prayed those things were him defying odds & proving to us that he wanted to stay here but we see now he wanted to give us time to find peace with letting him go. I told you my baby was thoughtful & considerate, I truly believe he did that for us.”

Kallie suggested that after discussions with doctors, the family would be ending further medical intervention for her son, who she has indicated suffered a brain injury and since required constant hospitalization.

She then went on to write about the impact Levi’s story has had, adding, “During this time he brought out humanity across the nation, he dropped so many to their knees & reminded them what truly matters in this world. It kind of gives that T-rex strength a whole new meaning, doesn't it?”

“Here soon I'll climb into bed with my baby and hold him as he falls asleep for the last time on this earth,” Kallie continued. “I find comfort in knowing he will be restored to the perfect little boy he was & have the ability to do all the things he loves! I know there are Angels up there waiting to hold him until I can again!”

The mother of three concluded the post, “We will miss him every second of every day down here but feel without unwavering doubt this is the best -

thing we can do for him! We love you baby beans and I can't wait till the day you can 'work the ground' with me again!”

Alongside the touching words was a video of Kallie and Levi driving a piece of machinery.

“You’re my best bud?” Kallie asked Levi as she kissed him on his cheek. “Yeah,” the 3-year-old replied.

Kallie’s announcement comes after she shared on Thursday, May 30, that Levi was back under sedation after “he did not handle” being weaned off it and was being kept “comfortable.”

“The 24 hour eeg electroencephalogram, didn't tell us much different from the first but it was one of the things we felt we needed to do again,” she wrote.

“They are keeping Levi comfortable, they attempted to wean sedation and he did not handle it. It was heartbreaking to watch & he is now heavily sedated until the next step,” she explained. “The MRI is tomorrow. It may show a difference from the first, it may not. We are checking & double checking all we can!”

“Again, Levi is our number 1 priority in all of this. We are having several conversations a day with doctors, rehabs, neurologists etc to help us better serve him! “ Kallie added.

On May 24, Kallie said she and her husband Spencer were “shattered” by the results of their son’s first MRI, which she revealed after sharing that Levi had woken up earlier in the day.

“The MRI wasn't good, we're shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life,” she wrote in a May 24 post. “Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days.”
