Louisiana State University freshman running back Trey Holly was charged with three felony charges in connection to an alleged attempted murder at an apartment complex shooting Feb. 9, reports the Union Parish Sheriff's Office. He turned himself in on Thursday and was then taken into custody at the Union Parish Detention Center.

Holly, 19, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons (on public roadway) and aggravated criminal damage to property. His bond was set at $512,000.

He was one of three people arrested in connection with the Feb. 9 shooting.

Jordan Ramond Jones, 18, was also charged with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons (on public roadway). Jones’ bond was set at $510,000.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was also charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons (on public roadway), aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. His bond was set at $522,000.

The shooting occurred in an apartment complex within Farmerville, La. city limits. Two victims were left injured and “discovered suffering from gunshot wounds,” per the UPSO. Sheriff Dusty Gat -

Following the incident, the UPSO’s Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation. It has been determined by the UPSO that the shooting followed earlier altercations at an apartment building, reports CBS NCAA FB.

The freshman running back has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, an LSU spokesperson told ESPN.

The university also shared a statement with LSU County: “We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish. This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”

Holly just concluded the 2023-2024 season and finished with one touchdown and 11 carries for 110 yards, per ESPN. He signed with the university after graduating from Union Parish High School. He was the No. 25 player in Louisiana, reports CBS NCAA FB. He also holds the all-time high school rushing record with 10,523 yards in the state of Louisiana.
