Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton's Relationship Timeline

Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton have gone their separate ways.

In November 2023, Appleton filed for divorce from Gage after almost seven months of marriage. They eventually reached a divorce settlement in June 2024.

Gage and Appleton certainly had a whirlwind romance. After they first sparked romance rumors in February 2023 and got engaged a month later, the couple tied the knot in April 2023.

Gage revealed that he and Appleton said, "I do," at a wedding officiated by Kim Kardashian. Wearing matching fur coats and leather pants, the two were then serenaded by country superstar Shania Twain, who performed a stripped-down version of "You're Still the One."

In late February, the duo sparked dating rumors when they posted about their trip to Mexico. Alongside a collection of photos of them riding around together, Gage wrote, "la mejor," meaning "the best." Appleton also commented on the post, writing "Stud" with heart eyes.

In early March, the two continued to fuel romance rumors as they stepped out at the Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood and TikTok Celebrate Vanities: A Night For Young Hollywood event, where they walked the red carpet together in coordinating black and white looks.

Following their red carpet appearance together, Gage stayed coy about his relationship with Appleton during an interview with The New York Times published on March 9.

When asked if their Instagram photos together were a confirmation of a relationship, the actor replied, "If they want to think that, they can. I'm a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture of everyone needing to know everybody's business and nothing can be sacred. It's a weird line that I'm still trying to figure out."

Almost a month after their initial Instagram post, Appleton confirmed his relationship with Gage during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

"I'm very happy," he told the host. "Very much in love, and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing, and I think meeting someone you connect with is really, really special."

Shortly after going public with their romance, the two stepped out together again as they attended the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards in coordinating black suits.

A few days later, Appleton posted a sweet tribute to Gage, sharing numerous photos of them together. He captioned the post, "Apple of my eye."

During an appearance on the Today show, the You actor gushed about Appleton after co-host Dylan Dreyer mentioned that Appleton would be on the show later that week.

"I feel very happy, very lucky and very much in love," Gage said. "He's a good-looking man. Something about being in London, I got a taste of the Brits and couldn't help myself."

At the Tequila Don Julio Rosado launch Party in Beverly Hills, Calif., Gage opened up to PEOPLE about his dating life before finding love with Appleton.

On April 5, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Gage and Appleton are engaged.

"Friends in their circle are definitely shocked at how quick it happened, but they're happy for them," one insider said. "They seem like the real deal."

A second source close to Appleton tells PEOPLE, "Chris has been looking for something real for a long time. This has moved fast but he is dazzled by Lukas."

Gage and Appleton attended Usher's Las Vegas residency show with Kim Kardashian. In videos posted by the reality star on Instagram, the trio could be seen singing along to all of Usher's iconic tunes.

Gage and Appleton showed up on the red carpet at the Daily Front Row Fashion L.A. Awards wearing matching rings on their left hands. This came just two days after the couple obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada — leaving fans convinced that the pair wed while on a trip to Las Vegas.

During his acceptance speech for hair artist of the year, Appleton gave Gage a special shout-out.

"Thank you to Lukas for being my rock and putting up with me," he said. "And making me feel perfect when I know I'm not."

After sparking marriage rumors, Gage confirmed the happy news on Instagram, revealing that he and Appleton tied the knot. Not only was the wedding officiated by Kim Kardashian, but they also had Shania Twain serenade them with a performance of "You're Still the One."

A few days later, Appleton shared that he and Gage got matching "4.22" tattoos in honor of their wedding date.

"What happens in Vegas 🎲," the celebrity hairstylist captioned a photo of the couple's new ink.

Gage pulled out all the stops for Appleton's 40th birthday. While on vacation in the Turks and Caicos, The White Lotus star surprised Appleton with an intimate bash on a 40-foot private yacht. The party included champagne, charcuterie boards and a coconut-flavored birthday cake.

Gage and Appleton grabbed dinner with Chrishell Stause at Craig's in Los Angeles. The Selling Sunset star wore a little black dress, Appleton donned a matching brown set and Gage looked casual in a retro-inspired shirt and black denim.

The couple made a number of appearances together at New York Fashion Week in September, including an event for Banana Republic and a Ralph Lauren fashion show.

In early November, Appleton filed for divorce from Gage after almost seven months of marriage. According to Los Angeles divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE, Appleton cited "irreconcilable differences" on Nov. 13 with a date of separation as Nov. 10. The documents also show that a postnuptial agreement is in place.

During an interview with PEOPLE, Gage shared that he's doing "really good" amid his divorce from Appleton.

"It's been a year of learning, growing, changing — yeah, just constant change,” he added. “Life's always changing. Everything's great."

The exes reached a divorce settlement — both agreeing to waive spousal support, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
