After three months without a winner, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow. One lucky winner could cash in an estimated $559 million prize on Wednesday night.
The winner would have two options per the official Powerball site: cash in the prize one time and take home a total of $273.3 million; or choose the “annuity option,” be given a singular immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
Per the Powerball site, the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
While no one won the jackpot during the Monday drawing, one lucky person in Virginia matched all five white balls and won a $1 million prize. Monday’s winning numbers were: 1, 3, 7, 16, 66 and a red Powerball 5. The Power -
Play was 5X.
Meanwhile, one player in Indiana, one in Wyoming, one in Pennsylvania, one in South Carolina, one in Puerto Rico, and two in Michigan increased their Match 4 + PB winnings from $50,000 to $250,000 — by including the Power Play feature on their ticket for an additional $1 per play.
More than 709,000 tickets won cash prizes for Monday's jackpot.

The last winner to cash in a jackpot won a prize worth $842.4 million on New Year’s Day. However, since the Michigan winner won, there have been 30 drawings without a winner.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and cost $2 per play. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and can be streamed live on Powerball.com.
