Watch Glen Powell and Hit Man Costar Adria Arjona Bond with Their Moms Over Texas Barbecue (Exclusive)

Glen Powell and Adria Arjona are bonding with their mothers!

In a new exclusive clip Netflix shared with PEOPLE on Wednesday, June 5, Powell, 35, and Arjona, 32, sat down with their mothers Cyndy Powell and Leslie Torres to discuss what each actor was like as a kid while enjoying some barbecue in Powell's hometown of Austin, Texas. In the clip, the actors' mothers trade childhood photos back and forth, with Leslie even passing around sonogram images from when she first learned she was pregnant with Arjona.

"He was fun and happy - very creative. He's always loved to write, and they used to their own movies and cast their cousins and sisters, so he was always using words," Cyndy said of Glen, a writer and producer on the pair's new Netflix movie Hit Man.

Leslie described her daughter Arjona as "free, daring" and fond of performing as a child — though Arjona said, "I shy away from attention now."

"You've kind of seen it a little bit on this press tour with me, I get really nervous," she said, though Powell said the actress "never seems nervous."

lights as a fake hit man for the New Orleans Police Department," according to a Netflix synopsis for the film. In his undercover work, he meets a woman named Madison (Arjona) and grows romantically interested in her even though she is a criminal he is helping the police investigate.

"I love Hit Man because it's kind of - he found it, he wrote it with filmmaker Richard Linklater and produced it with Rick and then it just was so fun to see him get to use so many of his different skill sets," Cyndy shared of the new movie. "I just remember showing up on set, you'd get out of the van and nobody knew what this character was going to look like."

The group also revealed in the clip that Leslie has a cameo in Hit Man; she appears in the movie as Arjona's character's mother via a photo. "I couldn't believe it when I saw myself - it was like a dream come true," she said in the video. 

"First thing that I realized when we met is that we have a mutual love of our moms and we got to have you guys both on set," Glen told the group, as they both expressed appreciation for their mothers. "It's rare, especially in our business, to have good moms." 

Hit Man is in select theaters now; it begins streaming on Netflix June 7.
